It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosie (Rojelia) Pruneda, who departed this life peacefully on August 24, 2025, at 2:07 PM, at the age of 91. Rosie was born on March 11, 1934, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Norberto and Francisca Perez Acevedo.
Rosie was a dedicated wife to Ramiro and a devoted mother to Michael, Edward, and Ramiro Jr. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren, Angela, Jacob. Austinn. McKinzie, and Kassandra and great grandmother to five great grandchildren, Georgianna, Cecilia, Ira, Elijah, and Jonathan. Rosie was an aunt (Tia Ochi) to so many. She had 128 nieces and nephews and various great and great-great nieces and nephews. Rosie was a hardworking woman who built a career as an RN and later a caregiver, caring for patients that stand as a testament to her faith, talent, and commitment to humanity. Rosie never missed her Mass Sunday mornings when she could no longer attend physically.
Rosie was preceded in death by her parents Norberto and Francisca Perez Acevedo, husband, Ramiro Pruneda Sr, Agapito Cruz, sister Maria Luisa Cruz, brother Pablo Maltos, Juanita Maltos. Ricardo Valdez, sister Leonila Valdez, brother Rodolfo Acevedo. Micaela Acevedo, Brother Ramiro Acevedo, Angelita Acevedo, Juan Martinez and daughter-in-law Edith Pietch. She is survived by brother Roberto Acevedo, sister Teresa Martinez, Brother Fidel Acevedo, Mary Acevedo, sister Eloisa Acevedo, Albert Jurado, and sister Elida Jurado. As well as all her children, two daughters-in-law and all her grandchildren. Norberto and Francisca Perez Acevedo.
Rosie’s generosity, caring, and unwavering love for her family will never be forgotten. She will be dearly missed. The immediate family will have a private viewing at Zoeller Funeral Home (in New Braunfels, Texas) between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM Friday September 5, 2025, followed by a public visitation from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM conducted by her loving baby sister, Elida Jurado. A funeral service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (in New Braunfels, Texas) on September 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Interment to follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery in New Braunfels, Texas. Livestreaming of the funeral will be Saturday, September 6, 2025.
