Shirley A Shearer

1936 - 2013

Shirley Mehnert Shearer passed away November 20, 2013, following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born June 24, 1936, in Houston, Texas, to Thomas and Mable Mehnert.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Barry Shearer.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert Shearer, son Michael and wife Florie, son Chris and wife Diana, daughter Pamela Shearer; grandchildren Bill John Tallido, Kayla Shearer, Rachel Shearer, Casey Shearer, and Emalee Shearer.

Shirley was reared in Houston, graduating from St. Agnes Academy. She married Bob in 1956 and began a life-long commitment to home and family.

She was an exemplary role model for her children and grandchildren, their beloved Gram.

She enjoyed many special friendships. She was dedicated to her faith and actively served as a volunteer in her church.

With her sweet smile, gentle nature, and generous spirit, she was loved by all who knew her.

In her final hours she was surrounded by her devoted family and her beloved dog Zoe, her constant companion.

Shirley will be missed.

A public visitation will take place at 5pm Sunday, November 24, 2013 at Zoeller Funeral Home with a rosary to follow at 7PM.

A funeral mass will be held at 10AM Monday, November 25, 2013 at St. Peter and Paul Church, 386 N. Castell, New Braunfels. Interment will follow at the San Marcos City Cemetery at 12 noon.
