

Thomas Jan Gaddie of New Braunfels, Texas went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 24, 2025 at the age of 90. Jan was born on January 9, 1935 in San Angelo, Texas to Alton Troy Gaddie and Thaila Cork Gaddie. He graduated from W. B. Ray High School in Corpus Christi in 1953 and Baylor University in 1957 with a degree in business. He was married to his wife Kathleen Joyce Gaddie and celebrated 63 years of marriage. They loved traveling in Europe, the Canadian Rockies, Alaska and Hawaii.
Jan became owner of Gaddie Cleaners in Corpus Christi, Texas in 1964. He enjoyed serving as deacon and usher and ministering with his Bible study class at Oakwood Church. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling, and golf. For the last four years of his life, Jan shared a special friendship with Melba Harper who introduced him to a new hobby, square dancing.
Jan loved his family. He made sure his children knew Jesus, and instilled in them a love for the church and the value of hard work. He taught his children to hunt, fish and play baseball, even coaching his sons' little league teams. He loved getting the family together, especially for "Gaddie Family Christmas". He never missed anyone's birthday.
Jan was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his daughter Brenda Conley and husband Dan; son Troy Gaddie and wife Lori; son Todd Gaddie and wife Beth; sister Jean Mathieu, 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
A family graveside service will be held at Seaside Memorial Park and Funeral Home in Corpus Christi on Friday, March 28 at 1:00 pm. A service celebrating his life will be held at Oakwood Church in New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, March 29 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Oakwood Church Building Fund, 2154 TX-337 Loop, New Braunfels, TX 78130.
