VICTORIANO D. LEOS (“Victor”), 89, a longtime resident of New Braunfels, Texas died peacefully at his home on Thursday, April 25th, 2024. He was preceded in death by his wife Maria Isabel “Belia” Sierra Leos. Victor was born on January 1, 1935 in Zorn, Texas to the late Marciano Leos, Jr. and Dolores Duran Leos.
Victor worked at the Mission Valley Textile Mill for many years where he met his future wife, Belia. He then began his fireman career in 1973 working for the New Braunfels Fire Department and retired after 23 years. Victor also worked part-time doing remodeling and later at Seiler Fire Extinguisher Co., during his off shifts from the fire department. He loved traveling, fixing things as a handyman, fishing, watching wrestling, playing on slot machines at Lucky Eagle and Coushatta, and especially playing Loteria scratch offs.
Victor cherished his role as a husband, father and grandpa. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Sharing stories of his childhood, coaching little league for many years and imparting his wisdom.
He will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life, indulging in good meals, deserts (especially his Twinkies), sharing fun times with friends and family. He loved listening to country and Mexican music and dancing. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched.
Victor is survived by his three children; Rosie Miller (David, decd), Mario Leos (Dora), and Marc Leos, brother Gilbert Leos (Armida), and sister Mary Ratke. Twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by sister-in-law Gloria Luna (Ramon, decd), brother-in-laws Victor Sierra (Rebecca), Jose D. Sierra (Raquel), and Louis Zamora (Lana). Numerous nephews and nieces.
Victor was preceded in death by his siblings Alfredo and Celestino Leos, Amelia Zertuche, Guadalupe Camargo and Consuelo Camacho.
Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Thursday, May 2nd from 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm, with a Rosary recited at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 3rd at 10:00 am, at Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Peter and Paul Cemetery on Peace Ave.
