

Kaye Brown was born on January 27, 1957 in Uvalde, TX to Joe and Ann Courtin. She passed away on February 18, 2014 in New Braunfels at the age of 57. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will forever be missed. At age 3, she lost her father, Joe Courtin. Two years later, her mother married Tom Guthrie. The family moved to Brackettville then Eagle Pass. They later moved to Universal City where she graduated from Samuel Clemens High School in 1975. In 1977, her father, Tom Guthrie passed away. Two years later, her mother married John Lea. On January 6, 1978 she met the love of her life, Patrick Brown. They were married on March 10, 1979 and spent 36 beautiful years together. She was blessed with two children, who she loved dearly and three grandchildren who brought her so much joy and meant the world to her. She will always be known to them as “Kaki”.
She was preceded in death by her fathers, Joe Courtin, Tom Guthrie and John Lea.
She is survived by her loving husband, Patrick Brown; her daughter Ashlee Kirby and husband Bryce; son, Parker Brown; grandchildren Kolten Kirby, Kayla Brown and Logan Brown; mother Ann Lea; sisters Debbie Wilson and husband Steve; Renee Byrom and husband Kerry; Wendy Becton and husband Mitch; Leslie Cormier and husband Larry; Linda Lea and husband Burt Rubinowitz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many great friends.
A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Services will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels with interment to follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
