Ada Nivia Reyes

Ada N. (Juarbe) Reyes, 70, of New Britain, CT, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2025. She was born on February 4, 1955, in Santurce, Puerto Rico, to the late Antonia Juarbe Rodríguez and Manuel Juarbe of Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

Ada attended the University of Puerto Rico and was a devoted member of Tabernáculo Asamblea de Dios Church, where she met the love of her life, Richard Reyes Padilla of the Bronx, New York. They married and built a life together rooted in faith, and love. After teaching for four years and welcoming their second child, Ada and Richard moved to New Britain, CT, in 1984 in search of greater opportunities for their growing family.

A dedicated wife, mother, and caregiver, Ada opened her home as a daycare provider for more than 25 years. While she cared for many children over the years, her greatest devotion was to her own family. She dedicated her life to ensuring her three children were always supported, instilling in them the values of education, hard work, and compassion. Her role as a mother was at the very heart of who she was, and she gave of herself fully to her family every single day.

Ada embraced life fully. She loved traveling and cruising with her husband, never passed up the chance to enjoy live music, and found joy in tending her garden. She shared countless conversations with her children about the latest Netflix miniseries and cherished discussing reality TV and telenovelas with her sisters.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 45 years, Richard Reyes; her children, Omar J. Reyes, Aisha J. Reyes, and Steven E. Reyes, all of New Britain; her brother, Manuel “Papo” Juarbe of Toa Alta, Puerto Rico; her sister, Edna Ramos Juarbe Rodríguez of Guaynabo, Puerto Rico; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. She was predeceased by her sister, Miriam Colón Juarbe of Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

Ada’s unwavering love touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her family, friends, and the many children whose lives she brightened.

Interment Services will be held Thursday August 21, 2025 2PM at State of Connecticut Veterans Cemetery 317 Bow Ln Middletown CT
