

Andrea Cialfi, 84, of Plainville, died, July 2, 2014 at his home after a long illness. He was born March 24, 1930 in Montereale, L’Aquila, Italy the son of the late Celestino and Rosa Cialfi. Andrea lived in Colle, Paganica, Italy. He was employed by Fafnir Bearing and retired in 1990. He also served in the Italian Army. He was a member of St. Ann Church. He was an avid gardener and most happy while cultivating all kinds of vegitables for his family and the family restaurants. He will always be remembered by all for his wonderful zucchini blossoms. Andrea, was predeceased by his beloved wife Carmela “Lina” Cialfi. He is survived by two sons Celestino “Dino” Cialfi of Canton and Salvatore Cialfi and his wife Jackie of Berlin, two daughters Rosa Rocco and her husband Joseph and Tina Autunno and her husband Peter all of Plainville, his brother Silvano Cialfi, his brother-in-law Sebastain Giarratana and his wife Josephine of New Britain, his sister Delia Cialfi, four sisters-in-law Tina Bordonaro, Lucy Ciarcia and husband Paul, Maria Perreault and Lidia Onisto and her husband Joseph. Ten grandchildren Samantha (Cialfi) Maglio, Ashley, Isabella, and Olivia Cialfi, Jacob and Alyssa Rocco, Andrew, Anthony, Alexander, and Vanessa Autunno, Mya and one great grandson Leonardo Maglio. Many special nieces and nephews, dear friends, neighbors and special pets: a dog Jasmine (Jazzy) deceased, Kona, and Sugar. He was also predeceased by Mary and Louis Cipriani, Paola and Giuseppe Crisciotti, Angela and Alberto Abrusca, Ines and Pietro DiNicola, Amelia Cialfi, and Settimio Cialfi. Also predeceased by two brothers-in-law, Sebastian Bordonaro and Dennis Perreault and one nephew Ronald Perreault. We would like to thank VNA Hospice for their ongoing care. And a very special thanks to Krystyna Mazur for her effort and dedication to our father. With her endless ongoing care we were able to fulfill our dads last wish, to be kept at home, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held July 7, 2014 at 9am from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10am at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St., New Britain. Visitation hours are Sunday from 3-6pm at the funeral home.
