Andrea Ortiz, 86, of New Britain finished her journey in this world to be with the Lord on October 30th, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born in Maunabo, P.R. to the late Cresencia Maldonado and Ceferino Sanchez. She was a member of Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostal in New Britain, CT for 17 years. Afterwards, she joined her late husband Rev. Luis Ortiz to pastor, Iglesia Cristiana Pentecostal Alfa y Omega in the city of New Haven, CT for 22 years. Once fulfilling their calling she became an an active member of Iglesia Pentecostal Betel of New Britain, CT. until her passing. In addition to all the years of her service to God, she was a dedicated employee to the Board of Education for the city of New Britain for 18 years.
She was predeceased by the love of her life of 70 years, the late Rev. Luis Ortiz, daughter Luz Nereida Burgos, and grandson Angel Ortiz Jr.
She was the loving mother of Carmen and Tony Baez, Angel and Modesta Ortiz, Eddie and Irma Grimes Ortiz, Guillermina and Dennis Beatty, Fernando and Patricia Ortiz, Nelida and Antonio Medina, Ana and Manuel Benitez, Maria Ortiz, Damaris Ortiz, and Pastors Adalberto and Emile Ortiz. She was the oldest of 14 siblings.
Her vibrant, loving, sweet and powerful personality made an impact everywhere she went and with everyone she became involved. She loved to sing to the Lord, read the bible, and write, but most of all she loved God, her family and cherished the times she spent with them.
She would often express how proud she was of her 11 children, 25 grand children, 32 great grand children and 1 great-great grand daughter.
She had many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who loved her very much. Her sudden pass has left all that love her with a broken heart, but they take comfort in knowing that she will be reunited with her loving husband, daughter and grandson in the presence of God.
The Ortiz family will like to extend our sincere gratitude to Pastors Jose Manuel Davila and Adelicia Davila for all the love and support they showed over the years to our mother.
