

Anthony T. Bianca Sr., 92, widower of Helen T. (Bak) Bianca, of New Britain, CT and Fort Lauderdale, FL entered into God’s care on Tuesday, July 24, 2012. He was born in New Britain on February 8, 1920 and was the son to the late Corrado and Maria (Formica) Bianca. He was a graduate of New Britain High School, Class of 1938 and attended Hillyer College, Hartford, CT. He was a proud veteran, serving during WWII as Staff Sargeant U.S. Army – 87th Infantry, 345th Regiment, European Theater of Operations. Also in front line action in Germany, France and Belgium, Battle of the Bulge and received Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart, Army Presidential Unit Citation and the Bronze Star for Heroic and Meritorious Achievement. After returning from the War he was involved in many business ventures including; Auto sales at Arute Ford, advertising at ABCO promotions, Real Estate Development at Bianca Realty on Grove Hill in New Britain, worked as State Tax Marshall for the State of CT, SAN Land Development building low income rental housing throughout the Northeast, formed Devcon Development with his son-in-law Roland LaBonte and finished his career as development coordinator with his son at ATB Construction in New Britain.
He and his wife took great pride in attending all of their grandchildren’s sporting events from high school through college. He was an avid Yankees baseball, Dallas Cowboys, UCONN and Notre Dame football fan. He was also active in and served as a 9th degree- Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, Northwestern Club, New Britain Elks New Britain VFW. Served as Director for First City Bank in New Britain, he was a corporator for the New Britain Girls and Boys Club, served as a corporator at both New Britain General Hospital and Hartford Hospital. He was also Chairman of the Veterans Council in New Britain, as a Democratic Town Chairman in New Britain, State Central Committeeman, State Capitol Speakers Bureau, Organized campaigns in CT for John Glenn, Robert Kennedy John Kennedy and Adlai Stevenson.
A devoted father, grandfather and great grandfather, he is survived and will be dearly missed by his loving family: a daughter, Marilyn P. LaBonte and her husband Roland G. LaBonte of West Hartford, a son Anthony T. Bianca Jr., and his wife Pamela Ann Bianca of New Britain, his precious grandchildren: Scott LaBonte and wife Sally of Farmington, Anthony T. Bianca, III and wife Jennifer, Chad LaBonte and wife Erin of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Aimee Bianca and Shawn LaBonte of Palm Beach Gardens, FL his sweet great grandchildren; Carina, Morgan and Helena- children of Scott & Sally LaBonte, Sofia and Alexander- children of Anthony and Jennifer Bianca, Jackson, Josie and Sammi – children of Chad and Erin LaBonte and Sophia – child of Shawn LaBonte, numerous nephews and nieces and sister-in-law; Anne Labienic, Southington.
He was also pre-deceased by; brothers- Paul (wife Marie) and James Bianca, sisters – Lena Proietti,(husband Paul), Lillian Spurvey (husband) Everett, Elizabeth Kosswig (husband Robert) and In-laws; Mary and Frank DeMauro and Lucian Labienic.
For the past seven years he was lovingly cared for by his son and daughter in law while in CT and his family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care and attention that he received by Oriana Sandoval his full-time caregiver in Florida throughout the winter months.
If desired, donations may be made in his memory to the Helen T. Bianca Nursing Scholarship Fund, 74 Vine Street, New Britain, CT 06052 - administered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain. Special recognition goes to Hospice-By-The Sea of Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Funeral services will begin Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 10am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 11am in Holy Cross Church. Burial will full military honors will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
