

Bernard Godlewski, 91, beloved husband of Amelia (Kiejko) Godlewski for 68 years, of New Britain, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2017. He was born in Poland and had retired from Stanley Works after many years of service. He was a devout longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. He will be remembered for his love of spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and father-in-law.
He is also survived by his children; Zygmunt Godlewski and his wife Margie of New Britain, Kazimierz Godlewski and his wife Janina of New Britain and Ann Godlewski of Plainville, his precious grandchildren: Lisa Wiecki and husband Robert, Richard Godlewski and wife Violetta. Tommy Godlewski and wife Margaret, Eva Dabrowski and husband Krystian and Adam Godlewski, seven great grandchildren: Paul and Darek Wiecki, Priscilla and Roman Godlewski, Victoria and Timothy Godlewski and Ethan Dabrowski, nieces, nephews and many cousins.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017 from 4-7pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. His funeral services will begin Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 at 10AM at the funeral home for a brief gathering followed by his funeral liturgy at 11AM in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Jerome Home for their compassionate care.
