Carol lived her life rooted in faith, family and service. A devoted member of Holy Cross church where she served as a eucharistic minister, lecturer and past president of the Holy Cross Ladies Guild. She also served as a member of the Holy Cross Mothers Club. She generously volunteered at the Holy Cross bazaar running the food booth as a family affair. On March 16 2025 she was honored with a St. Josephs' medal of appreciation award from the Archdiocese of Hartford in recognition of her dedication to the church. Her faith guided her daily life and was a reflection in the care and relationships that she had with all of those around her. She spent many years visiting friends and families in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities.
Carol worked as a full-time mom for many years and when her youngest son was older she went to work at People’s Savings Bank (Webster Bank) in New Britain where she made many friends with her co-workers and customers. Many customers would sit and talk to Carol as they worked on their banking business. Carol also owned her own ceramic studio for many years in her home. She crocheted tirelessly and made many baby blankets, hats and other keepsakes to donate to local hospitals and made sure to give all of her grandchildren blankets for her future great grandchildren. Carol spent many summers at her cottage in Westbrook with her family and friends, it was her happy place where the door was always open.
Carol is survived by her loving husband of 62 years Daniel and their loving children Daniel DePinto Jr and his partner Nancy, Corrine DePinto and her husband David Slomski, Jeffrey DePinto and his wife Michelle, Paula DePinto and Mark DePinto and his wife Carmen.
Carol leaves behind 16 loving grandchildren and their significant others, Carla Rogalewski (John), Angela Alarmani (Steve), Daniel III (Lisa), Jonathon (Amanda), Nicolas, Alanna DePinto, (Alex), Jeffrey Jr (Regan), Alan (Lexi), Danielle, Caroline DePinto, Michael (Jada Francis), Anthony and Rosanna Abbatiello, Christopher (Kaylee), Alexandra (Jake) and Christine; two great grandchildren Julian and Gianna Alarmani (who were the light of her life).
She is also survived by her brother Carl and his wife Ellen Symecko who along with their five children lived next door and shared in daily life and made countless memories and by her sister-in-law Diane Smith and an endless extended family.
Carol will be deeply missed by her lifelong best friend Ann Marie Pavano and by her close friends, too many to list and Blu, her furbaby.
Carol was the root of the family tree and worked tirelessly to make holidays and celebrations joyous, memorable and filled with love. She will be remembered for her generous spirit, her strong faith, creative hands, and an unconditional deep love for her family and friends. Her presence was a constant source of strength and comfort to those who knew her. Although her physical presence is no longer with us; her spirit will live in our hearts for eternity.
The family would like to thank Jerome Home, Franciscan Hospice team and Euro Home Care for the exceptional care and support during the past few months.
