Mrs. Concetta (Trovato) Marino, of New Britain, devoted wife of the late Rev. Antonino Marino, entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 15, 1932, in Carlentini, Sicily, daughter of the late Giovanni and Giuseppa Trovato. In 1979, Concetta immigrated to the United States with her family, where she made New Britain her home. Together with her beloved husband, she faithfully served the Lord and her community—first in Sicily, where they co-founded and pastored the First Assemblies of God Church in Lentini, and later in New Britain as active members of the Fountain of Life Community Church. Concetta was a woman of deep faith, strength, and compassion, always placing her family and her faith at the center of her life. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. In addition to her devotion to her family, Concetta worked as a seamstress in a factory and also enjoyed sewing at home. She was a gifted cook who delighted her family with delicious meals and fresh bread, always bringing everyone together around the table. She could often be found reading her Bible and praying faithfully over each member of her family. Concetta’s gentle spirit and devotion to her family will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. She is survived by her children and their spouses: Nunzio and Fina Marino of Scotland; the late Giovanni Marino and his wife, Madeline Marino of Virginia; Maria Matilde and Carmelo Manuele of New Britain; Gisella and Vito Barbagallo of Plainville; Mosè and Silvana Marino of Berlin; Ester Marino of Florida; and Giacobbe and Lisa Marino of Florida. She leaves behind her cherished 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Carmelo Trovato, and was predeceased by her brother, Nunzio Trovato, and sister, Sebastiana Caligiore. She will be remembered lovingly by her in-laws, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends in both the United States and Sicily.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Concetta’s life at the New Britain Memorial/Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain.
