

Constance (Tata) Manafort, of Plainville, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on September 19th at Hartford Hospital after a brief illness, with her entire family by her side. Connie was born on October 1, 1937 in New Britain to the late Joseph and Lucy (Pavano) Tata. She was a graduate of New Britain High School, began her work career with the City of New Britain, but later became a full-time mother and homemaker, residing in New Britain for over 65 years. After her children were raised, she was employed for over 30 years with Dr. Joel Roffer, OD, of Farmington. She was a member of St. Dominic Church, Southington and had been a member of the Holmes School Mother’s Club, the Merigold Club, St. Francis School PTA, and “the Mah-Jong Ladies.”
She will be dearly missed by her 5 children, 13 (soon to be 14) grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson, including Virginia O’Connor and her husband Michael of Berlin and their children Elizabeth and Andrew; James Manafort, Jr. and his wife Jolyn of Farmington and their children Nicholas, Gene, Sandra and Madelyn and their grandson Jaiden; Lynne Romano and her husband Salvatore of Southington and their children Salvatore, Vincent and Maryssa; David Manafort and his wife Randi of Berlin and their children David Jr., Anthony and Joseph, and Joy Anello of Plainville and her daughter, Alyssa. She will also be greatly missed by her brother Carl Tata of New Britain, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law; Jon and Elisa Manafort, her cousins James DeFronzo, Donald DeFronzo, Margaret Pastore, Thomas Pitts, Nancy DiCaprio, Vincent Pitts, Diane Hughes, William Tata, Robert Tata, Patti Marchionni and Joanne Gustafson, her nephews Jason and Justin Manafort and their families and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her step-mother, Maria Tata and her dear aunts, Mary DeFronzo, Doris Pitts and Angeline DeFronzo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 24th at 10am at St. Dominic Church, Flanders Road, Southington. Those attending the funeral on Monday are asked to go directly to the Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain. Calling hours will be on Sunday, September 23rd from 4-7pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain.
