

Edward H. Stolarun, 94, passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen (Kochanik) Stolarun. He was born July 5, 1918 in Schenectady NY to the late John and Rose (Mylnarski) Stolarun. He was a lifelong resident of New Britain. As a young man Edward served one year at Camp Stuart in the Civilian Conservation Corp. He was a veteran of the US Army- Philippine Campaign. He was selected to be in the Presidential Honor Guard. He worked a machinist for Stanley Works, Skinner Chuck, Colt Industries and then at Pratt & Whitney Small Tools of which he spent 42 years. A devoted employee, Ed never took a sick day. He served as president of the Chandler Evans Men’s Club for two terms. Ed was a “jack of all trades” talented in landscaping, carpentry, auto repair, plumbing and an excellent cook. When he needed a part that was unavailable, he made one, when he needed a tool to make that part, he made that too.
Ed is survived by his sons, Edward L. Stolarun and his wife Bette of Virginia and Alan B. Stolarun and his fiancée Patricia Burris and her children and grandchildren, his granddaughter Melissa Blazic and her husband Andrew; his sister Wanda Dabrowski; several nieces and nephews and extended family members. He was predeceased by his son Richard Stolarun and his brothers Fred and Ted Stolarun.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 14th, at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain CT 06053. Calling hours are 8-10AM with a funeral service at 10AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
