

Felipe was a resident of New Britain for the past 50 years. He was formally employed with Landers Ferry and Clark and retired from the Emhart Corp. of Berlin, CT. Most recently Felipe served as a school bus monitor for Town&Country.
He was called Papi by his children and grandchildren. But others that knew him well called him Tony or Felo. He had no shortage of friends who could all count on him to lend a helping hand or listen with a caring ear. Whether you called him Felipe, Felo, Tony, or Papi he was deeply loved and will be missed by all.
He is survived by his present wife Nellie Garcia Lavoy and 5 children from former marriages. Felipe C. Lavoy, Jr, and daughter in-law Rhonda Lavoy of Manchester, Antonio C. Lavoy, Sr. of New Britain, Dori A. Burks and son in-law Ellis Burks of Ohio, Juan F. Lavoy, (aka Johnny),of West Hartford, and a son Demetrius E. (Henio) Lavoy, of New Britain. He has 2 Step Daughters; Diana Tirado and Katrina Jackson of New Britain, and 3 stepsons Edward Ortiz of New Britain, Angel Maroza and Carlos Maroza of Danielson CT.
He was the proud grandfather to 11 grandchildren : Jeanine Lavoy ,Felipe C. Lavoy III, and Jessie Lavoy, all of Manchester, Tiffany Alicia Lavoy, of Hartford, Juan A. Lavoy of Manchester, Antonio C. Lavoy, Jr and Elias Lavoy both of New Britain, Carissa Burks, Elisha Burks , Christopher Burks and Breanna Burks of Ohio.
In addition he had 11 Step-grandchildren: Jaime Sawyer and Ryan DiNardo of Manchester, Hector Santana Jr, Daeshanel Santana, Delijah Santana, Dalana Santana, Donte Jackson, Tatiana Jackson and Jayla Jackson of New Britain, Angel M.Carrasquillo (BeBo) and Lucelys R Carrasquillo (BeBa)of New Britain. He also survived by 10 great grandchildren

Visitation hours will be held Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 from 5-8pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain. Final Visitation will begin Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012 at 9:00am at www.TrinityonMain.org , followed by his Remembrance Service at 10:00am and then burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain.
