

Britain, CT, Florence was the fourth child to her parents Joseph and Florence Nesta. She was
the widow of Leo J. Boucher, who died in 1992.
Known to everyone as Flo, she retired from New Britain General Hospital after 27 years of
service. Her true passion in her life was her family. She loved to cook for everyone and was
well known for her cookies. She made Christmas Eve magical.
She was predeceased by her sons James (August 8, 1956) and Jerome (March 8, 2002), and
many lifelong friends; some of them from her childhood on Whiting Street.
She is survived by her son, Bob, and his wife, Melissa, her grandchildren, Shannon, Jake,
Rebekka, Emily, Erica, and Joshua, and her great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Jake, Jaxson, Henry,
Holden, and Noah. She also leaves a sister, Terry Piazza of Florida.
The family would like to thank Zee, Renata, Andrea, Bernice, Chandra, and Joan of Apple
Rehab Avon, for their love and services to Florence during her stay. Extending many thanks to
the wonderful staff at UCONN that made her last days comfortable.
A mass of Christain burial will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, November 11, at St. Mary’s
Church at 544 Main Street, New Britain, CT. Burial will be private at the convenience of the
family.
