Francisco Torres "Tony"

Francisco A. Torres (Tony) , 25, of New Britain, the first born son to Adelsa and Francisco Torres, passed away from battling long term cancer on Friday, May 30, 2014, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Tony was born on July 11th, 1988, and graduated from New Britain High School in 2006. He attended Tunxis Community College while working at Middletown Toyota and later T-Mobile. Tony was admired and respected greatly by anyone who came in contact with him. He loved sports, cars, and no one could forget he was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants. For many years he collected sneakers and hats, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, Adelsa and Francisco, he leaves his sister Nohemi Torres who resided with him, his two twin brothers, Javier and Jimmy Torres from the Dominican Republic, two nieces, one nephew, his grandmothers; Ofelia Rosa Acosta of New Britain and Benita Mejia of DR, his uncles; Eufemio Torres of DR, Enerio Acosta of New Jersey, Corpus, Belgica, Nilda, Joseph, Hilda and Sarcandy Acosta, all of New Britain, including much more extended family in DR and US.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr.’s Martin and Isakoff, members of the CCMC and Hospice Care.

Funeral services will be held Monday, June 2, 2014 at 10:00am at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by burial in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. Visitation hours will be held Sunday, June 1, 2014 from 4-7pm at the funeral home.
