Gaetana Marie Bramante Badal

Gaetana Marie (Bramante) Badal, who was known to her loved ones by Gay, returned to her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 23rd, 2017 at Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Lakewood Ranch, FL with her family by her side. Gay was born on March 1st, 1923 in Hartford, CT and was the daughter to the late Francesco & Lucia Bramanti. She was a parishioner of St. Ann Church. On October 10th, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in East Hartford, CT, she wed her husband of 59 years, Elia Carmelo Badal. Gay was a very generous, caring, direct, humorous and loving woman. In her younger years, she had worked for Aetna while later becoming a homemaker by raising her three wonderful children teaching them discipline, morals and values. She was actively involved in the community through her involvement as the President of Gaffney School PTA and as the Treasurer of St. Ann’s Ladies Guild.

Left to mourn her are her devoted daughters; Apres McLaughlin and husband Jay of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Gay-Marie Kusznir and husband Frank of New Britain, her sister Angela Forcucci of Glastonbury and her sister-in-law Hanna Michalski of Berlin, her precious grandchildren, the pride and joy of her life; Sean McLaughlin and wife Charlotte of Bradenton, FL and Kelly McLaughlin-Doheny and husband Kevin of Lynn Haven, FL and her two beautiful great granddaughters, that put life back in her years, Clare McLaughlin and Emma Doheny and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband Elia Badal and her caring son Joseph Badal. Gay will be dearly missed by her family and friends. The Badal family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staff at Hawthorne Village for their compassionate care.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 9:00 AM from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Church, 101 North St., New Britain. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 31st from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
