Hanna Smigielski Fidelus

Hanna (Smigielski) Fidelus, 60, of New Britain, CT, passed away after a long courageous battle with cancer on Friday, May 20, 2011. In her final hours, she was surrounded by the comfort and love of her family. She was the beloved wife of 39 years to Slawek Fidelus. Born in Poland on February 6, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Marinna (Jaroszewska) Smigielski. Besides her husband, Hanna leaves behind her son: Robert Fidelus of New Britain and daughter: Yvette Vinci and her husband Frank of Southington. Her beloved granddaughter: Isabella Vinci and one special niece, Elizabeth Marek of Newington. In addition, she is survived by her three siblings: Kristina Moczulak of Newington, Wieslaw Smigielski of New Britain and Jerry Smigielski and his wife Stasia of High Point, North Carolina, her brother-in-law, Wieslaw Fidelus and sister in law, Jolanta Szostak, both of Poland, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and her dog, Kora.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at 8:30am from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2011 from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
