Irena was employed by Emhart (Black & Decker) from 1961 until she retired in 1991. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church. She loved to cook polish food and grow her own vegetables and tend to her many flowers, especially loving her rose garden. Her greatest joy was being a Babcia, taking care of and watching her grandchildren grow, nurturing and sharing with great pride their many accomplishments. In her later years, she enjoyed singing and sang for hours on end.
She will be dearly missed by her daughters, Theresa Therrien and her husband Ronald of Plainville; Elizabeth Syska and her husband Robert of Southington; and her four grandchildren, Diana, Melissa and Eric Therrien and Matthew Syska.
