Jacob Morris Stavnezer

Jacob was born on February 29, 1940 in New Britain, CT to Louis and Shirley (Kruh) Stavnezer. For 62 years he was a devoted husband to Edith Stavnezer, who predeceased him.

Mr. Stavnezer served in the Air Force stationed in Homestead AFB, Florida from October 1958 until his Honorable Discharged in October 1962. Jacob was a blue collar worker who spent his career in the screw-machine business. He enjoyed watching sports, especially WNBA Basketball, the UConn Huskies and his New York Football Giants, but also enjoyed good food, anything nautical, light houses, technology and being around his family. He will be remembered for his sense of humor, wittiness, warmth and kindness.

Jacob is survived by his children, daughter Estelle S. Carenza and her husband Bruce of New Britain, CT, daughter Lori Apruzzese and her husband Pasquale of Plainville, CT, and son Louis Stavnezer of Cape Coral, FL, his grandchildren, Daniel Rich of Merrimack, NH, Brian Rich of Bridgeport, CT, Bella Apruzzese of Plainville, CT, Louis Stavnezer Jr. and Ryan Stavnezer each of Cape Coral, FL. Jacob is also survived by his great grandson, Jack Rich of Bridgeport, CT.

Services will be held on Friday, December 26, at 11:00 am at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain CT, reception to follow.
