
Jan Owczarek, 90, passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. He was born June 24, 1934 in Poland a son of the late Jan and Jadwiga (Wojdyla) Owczarek. Jan was an engineer before retiring. He cared deeply about Poland and loved the U.S. for its freedoms. He was active in the Solidarity movement prior to immigrating to the U.S.
He is survived by his daughter; Kasia Owczarek – Wilcox and her husband (Kevin Wilcox) of Bloomfield and a sister; Wanda Zajac of Poland as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Poland and Canada. Jan was predeceased by two sisters; Janina Urbanowicz and Bozena Borysewicz and a brother; Stanislaw Owczarek.
Jan will be remembered as a loving and supportive father and uncle. His wit and sense of humor will be greatly missed.

A mass of christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 14 at 9:30am at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St., New Britain, CT, everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain.
