
John Joseph Haze, 90, of New Britain passed away peacefully on November, 2, 2021. A life long resident of New Britain, John will be remembered fondly by his extended family as a beloved brother, uncle, great-uncle, and friend. John served in the US Army from 1952-1954 and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. In his spare time, John could be found in his garden or bowling with friends in Middletown. John was a fantastic bowler and was a member of the 250+ club. John also enjoyed his yearly trips to California to visit close friends from his time in the service who owned an orchard. John would always bring back a multitude of dried fruit for his friends and family in Connecticut. John was the family IT expert, always helping anyone with their computer woes. He was also gifted at fixing electronics, he was the family “fixer” always tinkering with a variety of ongoing projects. John was also the family photographer and videographer, documenting all family gatherings, holidays, and weddings. It is said that every member of John’s large extended family has a VHS tape somewhere in their house that John created just for them. At Christmas time, you could always spot Uncle John’s gift under the tree because it was wrapped in the funnies section of the newspaper. John is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Stella (Gansiorowska) Haze, his sisters Jane Haze and Jessie Rimkie and her husband Michael, his brother Eddie Haze, his sister-in-law Lilla (Tribuiani) Haze, and, his niece Elizabeth Rimkie. John is survived by and will be dearly missed by his brother Leonard Haze, of New Britain, nephews: Leonard Haze Jr. and his wife Gail, of Enfield; Richard Haze, of New Britain; Jeffrey Haze and his wife Marlene, of Rocky Hill; Paul Haze and wife Kathleen, of Fairfield; Michael Rimkie, of New Hartford. Nieces: Ann Haze, of New Britain; Marie Haze, of New Britain; Lauren Marziarz and her husband Paul, of Southington; Michelle Nordstrom and her husband Marc, of Harwinton; Susan Saraceno and her husband Nicholas, of Old Saybrook. As well as an abundance of great-nephews and –nieces, cousins, and dear friends. A period of visitation will be held at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 4:00pm-7:00pm. A Funeral Mass will follow on Friday, November 12, 2021 at Holy Cross Church, Farmington Ave, New Britain at 10:00 (please meet the Haze family directly at church) with interment to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt St, New Britain.
