

Leonard J Haze 93 of New Britain died peacefully at home on Friday December 23, 2022. Leo, as he was known, was a lifelong resident of New Britain where he attended local schools, was a member of St Jerome Church and was employed at Stanley Works for 45 years. Leo loved to occupy his time working in his garden, fixing broken items, visiting the local library, reading and spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Leo was predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Lilla “Lee” (Tribuiani) Haze, his parents, Albert and Stella (Gasiorowska) Haze, his brothers Edmond Haze and John Haze, his sisters, Jane Haze and Jessie (Haze) Rimkie and her husband Michael Rimkie.
He is survived by six loving children, Leonard (Gail) J. Haze, Jr of Enfield; Richard Haze, Ann Haze and Marie Haze of New Britain; Jeffrey (Marlene) Haze of Rocky Hill; Paul (Kathy) Haze of Fairfield. He leaves 6 beloved grandchildren, Rachel, Sarah, Jane, Matthew, Lacey and Adam, 4 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin Wednesday, January 4th at 9:00AM at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00AM at St. Jerome Church, 1010 Slater Rd, New Britain. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, January 3rd from 5:00PM to 8:00PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the American Heart Association in Leo's honor.
