

Looba Trindade, known to most people as Mamaji ( an affectionate nickname which she was referred to by her grandchildren) was born on December 31st,1930 in Russia and moved to Iran with her family at a young age. She went to school in Iran, got married and gave birth to three daughters. Due to her husband’s untimely passing, she became a widow at the age of 25 and worked very hard to give her daughters a wonderful life. She had the love and support of her parents and siblings which helped her navigate through the challenges of raising three young daughters. She moved to the United States in the 1970’s and had lived in New Britain ever since. She met her husband Arture Trindade a few years after moving to the United States and together they shared a beautiful life and home filled with love. Looba was an avid member of St. Thomas Assyrian church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards and listening to music. Looba also had a great sense of humor, a contagious laugh and a generous heart. Even after she had stopped driving, she would have family members make donations on her behalf to various charities, particularly local food pantries and food banks. Looba loved to spend time with family and friends. She always welcomed guests with open arms and a kind smile. Looba was predeceased by her parents, ilia Nissano Simmoni and Sarafeema Meddi. Her husband Arture Trindade passed away in 1994. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Badri, Ature, Nelli, and Ashur.
She is survived by one sister, Liili, her three daughters, Flora, Fay(Feema), Rima and their husbands. She is also leaving behind two granddaughters, five grandsons, their spouses and many nieces and nephews. Looba will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by so many.
Funeral Liturgy will be held Saturday August 16, 2025 at St. Thomas Assyrian Church 120 Cabot St New Britain at 10AM (Please meet family directly at church). Burial will be immediately following at St. Thomas Cemetery on Barbour Rd in New Britain.
