Louise Marie (Deccy) Hill passed away on Dec. 11 at home, surrounded by family. She was born on December 20, 1929, in New Britain, CT. She later moved to Newington where she met and married the boy next door, her beloved husband William Ernest Hill, Jr, who passed away in 2008 after almost 60 years of marriage.
Louise enjoyed life to the fullest and was known for her generosity and kindness. Always active in their church, Louise and Bill involved themselves in community service; welcoming two young boys from a local children’s home on Sundays for a day of church and family time, supporting a family in Mississippi through the Box Project, delivering Meals on Wheels, offering rides to homebound and disabled people for church services and/or medical appointments, cooking and serving at a local food pantry, among other things. Louise dearly loved God, gardening, and spending time and playing games with her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
Louise is survived by her 5 children; William III and his wife Marybeth, Jean (Lariviere) and her husband Paul, Linda (Sartinsky) and her husband Michael, Jane (Pavlis) and her husband Joe, and Jim and his wife Julie. In addition she leaves 13 grandchildren; Jared Hill, Kevin Hill, Billy Hill IV, Jonathan Lariviere, Elisabeth Lariviere, Rachel Lariviere Mancini (Kurt), Chris Sartinsky (Kelly), Lisa Sartinsky Rachielles (Tom), Joe Pavlis, Jim Hill, Jennifer Hill Blankenburg (Jordan), Rachel Maloney and Rick Maloney and also 8 great grandchildren; Jay, Logan, Hunter, Aubrie, Ryan, Irie, Glenda and Michael. She also leaves two dear, devoted siblings; her sister Janice Saxton and her husband Dick, and her brother Peter Deccy and his wife Haja, and many special nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Louise was predeceased by her brother Raymond.
Our family would like to thank everyone at Village Gate of Farmington where Louise lived her last few years, and all the dedicated and loving caregivers who cared for her there.
A celebration of Louise’s life will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
