Maria Perna

Maria (Prisco) Perna, 72 of New Britain died unexpectedly on Monday, May 09, 2011 at home. She was born in Italy and has lived in New Britain for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Ann’s Church and has worked at the Capri Bakery. She was a loving mother and grandmother and her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She was the widow of Francesco Perna and is survived by her beloved sons with their spouses, Antonio and Bonnie Ann Perna of Rocky Hill; Vito and Kim Perna of South Glastonbury. She leaves her beloved grandchildren who where her pride and joy, Brianna; Francesco; Amy; Aaron and Alissa.

She is also survived by and a sister and two brothers with their spouses, Francesca and Angelo Perna; Agostino and Carol Prisco; Joseph and Barbara Prisco, a sister in law, Lina Prisco. She leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins, in the USA and Italy.

Funeral service will be Friday, May 13, 2011 at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain (directions: I-84, right off #37, 1 ½ miles on right) followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Ann Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary Garden Mausoleum. New Britain. Calling hours will be Thursday, May 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
