Melanie Bonola

Melanie was born in Westerly, Rhode Island on October 10, 1942 to Nicholas and Katherine (Dul) Tronsky. She attended Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain and went on to become an Executive Assistant at Stanley Works and, later in life, with New Britain Machine. She was a member of Saint Jerome Church, New Britain and Our Lady of Hope, Harwinton.

Melanie was pre-deceased by her husband, Salvatore. They had the joy of sharing a move from New Britain to Harwinton, where they built their dream home and enjoyed their passions for gardening, family, food, and community. Melanie had a unique ability to nurture and grow all types of plants, flowers, and vegetables, enjoyed puzzles, and had a flair for artistic expression. She deeply loved all animals, including all of her pets over the years who will be greeting her over rainbow bridge and looking for her to hold them once again.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her parents, brother, and sister. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Bonola, and Wendy Bonola; her 5 grandchildren and their spouses and partners, Noah, Avery, and Mason Dube, Griffin Ursin and Yasmine Sadoudi, and Cassidy (Ursin) Beltz and her husband, Logan Beltz, and a soon-to-be great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind her beloved companion kitty, Shadow as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

Services will be held at New Britain Memorial -Donald D Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT on Friday, September 12, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by burial services at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, 1141 Stanley Street, New Britain, CT. The family invites all to join in a celebration of life following the burial at Back Nine Tavern, Stanley Golf Course,245 Hartford Road, New Britain, CT.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to the Kalmia Audubon Sanctuary, which Melanie lived next door to and enjoyed exploring. Donations can be sent to Litchfield Hills Audubon Society, PO Box 861, Litchfield CT 06759.
