Pasqualine “Pat” Cardella, a charismatic woman of her times, peacefully passed away on July 5th, 2020. Her life of 102 years began on March 30th, 1918 and was endlessly filled with love and enjoyment. Pat shared her life with two wonderful husbands, first widowed by Salvatore Coco and second by Salvatore Cardella. Her life was a montage of many travels, cooking, dancing, playing bingo and a large Italian family. She leaves behind her two children, Diane Calvo-Poplawski and husband Robert Poplawski, and Philip Coco and wife Karen Coco, her grandchildren Robin Morrell, Salvatore Calvo II, Philip Coco, and Stacy Coco, ten great-grandchildren: Tyler, Olivia & Nicholas Morrell, Dante & Mason Coco, Jamie, Nick & Salvatore Calvo III, Samantha & John Burroughs and two great-great grandchildren: Sophia & Lucas Morrell. She loved cooking and having the family over for Sunday dinner, 5pm sharp. What she enjoyed the most was helping out with her grandchildren and great grandchildren, driving them to sports or events they had to go to and babysitting. Everyone made sure to buckle up tight because “Nana Pat” was known for having quite the lead foot. In her young days, Pat and her husband Sam were members of the Luna Club and enjoyed their Saturday night dances. To everyone who knew Pat, she was the light in the room. It was impossible for her fun-loving personality to be dulled, no matter her age. Her legacy will be remembered for years and years to come. Pat’s family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Jerome Home/Arbour Rose staff for their wonderful care and love given to Pat, not only in her final days, but throughout her life spent at Jerome Home/Arbour Rose. Special thanks to Christine, Kelly, Michelle, Rachel, Maribel & Cheryl. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Hartford Healthcare at Home Hospice Care. Calling hours will be held at the New Britain Memorial Donald D Sagarino Funeral Home on Saturday July 11th at 10:00AM followed by an Interment service at 11:00AM at St. Mary Cemetery in New Britain.
