Born on September 26, 1946, in Hartford, Connecticut, Phyllis was the beloved daughter of the late Harry Stolz and Sylvia Resnick. She pursued her education with dedication and pride, attending Hartford College for Women and later Worcester Polytechnic Institute in mathematics — an academic path that reflected her commitment to learning and personal growth.
Phyllis shared 47 wonderful years of marriage with her husband, Murray Brenner. Together they built a loving home and raised two daughters, Beth Rosenberg and Lisa Brenner. Her family was the center of her world, and she took immense joy in being a grandmother to Danica Dildin. Known for her warm heart and genuine concern for others, Phyllis was always quick to ask how someone was doing and truly listened to their answer. Her nurturing spirit touched everyone who knew her.
Phyllis found joy in life’s simple pleasures. She had a sweet tooth for ice cream and a sharp mind for trivia—rarely missing an episode of Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy!, and she especially enjoyed watching As Schools Match Wits. These moments brought her happiness and were often shared with those she loved.
A funeral service will be held at Emmanuel Cemetery in Wethersfield, CT on Thursday, December 11.
Phyllis will be remembered as an extraordinary mother and person who always meant the best for her family. May her memory be for blessing.
