Raphaela (Rae) Agnes Bouchard, 80, widow of Hubert (Frenchie) Francis Bouchard, of New Britain passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2018 at New Britain General Hospital after a brief illness with family by her side. Rae was born June 13, 1938 in New Britain to the late John J. Carfi and Mildred Cavalli residing in New Britain. She attended New Britain High School and graduated in 1956. Mrs. Bouchard was employed by Two Guys department store for 16 years, Friendly’s for 20 years and finally Dunbar Security before retiring. Rae was a parishioner of St Mary’s Catholic Church.
Rae was a lifelong resident of New Britain. She married Frenchie and they made their home in New Britain, Ct. Rae was a devoted wife and mother who cherished time spent with family. In addition to raising five children, she was employed for nearly forty years in a variety of areas. A light hearted woman, Rae had a loving and gentle nature with a great sense of humor. Reading was a passion for Rae, completing thousands of books throughout her life. She loved to read. She loved two animals, going to the beach but most of all, she loved to cook and bring the family together whenever possible.
She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children; Jeffrey Bouchard and his wife Debbie of Newnan, Georgia, Gregory Bouchard and his wife Marie of Newington, Michael Bouchard and Deneen of Plainville, Judy Bouchard of New Britain, and Jon Bouchard of Bristol.
Her sweet grandchildren: Jennifer, Christopher, Nicholas, Jessica, Brittney, Kelsie, Jaison, Brandon, Adam, Raechel and Laurynn, precious Great Grandchildren: Keira, Joshua, Andrew and Faith and many special cousins, nieces and nephews.
A time of visitation will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 from 4:00-7:00pm with a Prayer Service, officiated by Deacon Michael Rubitz at 6:30pm to conclude the services at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT.
