

Robert L. Gallagher, 66 of New Britain, CT, passed away unexpected on Tuesday, January 24, 2017. He was born in Caribou, Maine to the late Elwin and Bernice (Manter) Gallagher. Bob moved to Connecticut and attended local schools graduating from Southington High School. He served in the U.S. Army for three years did two tours in Vietnam earning the rank of Sergeant. Bob received two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star he also received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and Combat Infantry Badge.
Bob was a devoted husband to his wife Lauren (Violette) Gallagher she was the love of his life along with her three children he will be dearly missed by; his stepchildren; Kayle Miller Ashlyn Lopez and Adam Mozzer. He also loved his two step grandchildren Dylan Miller and Peyton Miller. He also leaves behind his Mother-in-law Ursula Violette, His sister-in-Law Denise Gaszek and her husband Bernie and his Brother-in-Law Tom Violette. Bob was a lighthearted man he loved gardening, enjoyed baking brownies cookies, cakes and watching movies, he was a lifer Yankee fan with their dog Maggie at his side. Bob is predeceased by his father-in-law Ronald Violette, brother George Gallagher and Brother-in-law Raymond Shirley. He will be deeply missed by his brother Elwin Gallagher Jr. and his wife Bette, Dennis Gallagher and wife Sharon, Darren Gallagher and wife Michelle, a sister Judy Shirley and also several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
There are no funeral services. In respecting Bob’s wishes, his ashes will be scattered at sea privately.
