

He was born on December 18, 1925 in Warsaw, Poland, previously residing in England before settling in New Britain. Mr. Harley was employed by H.P. Townsend Co. before his retirement. He was a proud veteran of World War II having served as a lieutenant in the Polish Home Army and fought in the Warsaw Uprising. He was a member of the Holy Cross Church. He was a kind and gentle man who loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife, Halina (Karwacka) Dronia Harley and is survived by sons, George Harley and his wife Toni of Merritt Island, Fla.; Alfred Dronia and his wife Marie of Long Beach, N.Y., and Richard Dronia of Barre, Vt. He is also survived by his beloved grandchildren, Steven and David Harley; Halina, George, Sean and Aleesha Dronia, and a great-granddaughter, Madeleine-Jane, as well as his devoted friend and companion Urszula Prusicka and her family and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Church. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in New Britain. Calling hours will be on Tuesday, February 8 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the New Britain Memorial–Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
