Sonya Yvette Atkins

Sonya was employed at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Wethersfield, CT for 30 years. She was also a member of Grace Church in New Britain, CT.

“Miss Hollywood” was full of life and added excitement and laughter everywhere she went. Undeniably the life of the party, her presence exuded a light that could brighten anyone’s day. She had a comedic and outspoken personality that touched the lives of all who knew her. Her caring and attentive nature was the glue that kept her tight knit family together; her children being the most important. A fierce and fabulous Diva, her memory will live on forever.

She leaves to celebrate her life, her mother Marie Owens and step father Larry Owens;

daughter - Latrina Jackson; son - Kevaughn Atkins; two sisters - Tasha Clayton, Penny Marie Roseboro; three brothers - Aaron Clayton, Tarik Clayton and Keith Clayton (predeceased); One step brother - Tyrone Owens; two step sisters - Monique Owens and Sharon Owens; Two granddaughters - Kaylee and Kylee Atkins; several aunts, nieces, nephews and a host of cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2-4pm on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Grace C M E Church, at Trinity on Main, 69 Main Street, New Britain., followed by a funeral service 4-5pm with the Rev.
