

Stanley Joseph Labieniec, 74, of Wolcott, passed away on May 18, 2023 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury with his beloved family by his side. Born in New Britain to the late Stanley L. and Evelyn Labieniec, Stanley attended St. Mary’s school and New Britain High School. After graduating high school, Stanley earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Southern Connecticut State University. Stanley met and married the love of his life, Theresa, in 1969 in New Britain. When Stanley met Theresa it was love at first sight and he spent all his waking hours taking care of her and their family. Stanley and Theresa raised their children, John, Michael, and Elizabeth in New Britain. Throughout his life, Stanley loved being creative with music and art. Specifically, he hand painted beautiful personalized murals in all of his children’s bedrooms to reflect their unique interests. He went so far as building a car bed and tree house from his own design to provide a wonderful and fun loving childhood for his family. Before his retirement, Stanley worked and dedicated his time at Continuum of Care, sharing his love of music with the clients and was truly adored by the clients and staff alike. Stanley served as the Folk Choir director at St. Andrew’s Church for 25 years and was always very involved in many church activities. Both Stanley and Theresa could often be found at the church being involved in the church bazar hosting the Polish booth, every pot luck dinner, and devoting their time to their church community. His faith drove his passion for music, art, painting, and photography which was evident in most everything he did. Stanley’s faith in the Lord brings his family great comfort knowing that he will always be our guardian angel. Stanley joins in heaven his parents and brothers: Mark Labieniec and Eugene LaCroix. In addition to his devoted wife Theresa (Cichy) Labieniec of 50 years, Stanley is survived by his children: John Labieniec and wife Kathy, Michael Labieniec and wife Sarah, and Elizabeth Labieniec Austin and husband David; grandchildren: Brianna Austin, Alyssa Donahue, Carleigh Bilodeau, Madelynne Labieniec, Parker Labieniec, Zevan Labieniec, Tenor Labieniec, Quinn Labieniec, Fable Labieniec, Bash Labieniec, Zerie Labieniec, Eilaria Labieniec, and Link Labieniec; as well as several nieces and nephews. The Labieniec family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful staff at St. Mary’s Hospital ICU for their kind and compassionate care especially Chaplain Judy Bellemare, as well as Erica Elliott for her companionship to the family during this most difficult time. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church, Broad Street, New Britain on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 9:30am, with a committal service to follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Burritt Street, New Britain. Friends and family are invited to call upon Stanley’s family on Monday evening at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain from 4:00-7:00pm as well as Tuesday morning from 8:30-9:00am.
