He was born on April 14, 1953, in Tyczek, Poland, the son of the late Stanislaw and Eleonora (Romanowska) Krysiak. On December 2, 1961, Tadeusz immigrated to the United States with his entire family, beginning a new life in New Britain, where he grew up and formed lifelong ties to the community.
From an early age, Tadeusz embraced life with energy and curiosity. He tried out for various sports, learned to ski, took up scuba diving, and earned recognition in judo and karate. He was a proud member of the Polish Falcons of America, Nest 88, and participated in regional and national competitions in track and field, swimming, and gymnastics. He also swam competitively for the Willow Brook Park swim team and was active in Scouts. Whatever the activity, Tadeusz brought heart, an open-mind, and a willingness to try.
After graduating from E.C. Goodwin Technical High School in 1973 with a focus in electrical trades, Tadeusz began his career at Electric Boat in Groton, contributing to the construction of submarines that played a vital role in national defense. He later served as an inspector at three major power plants across the country, ensuring that critical energy systems were safe and reliable. Upon returning to Connecticut, Tad worked for ITT Hartford, where he maintained and supported the servers that managed large-scale company data and operations. In his final professional role, he brought his practical expertise to the Consolidated School District of New Britain, where his quiet dependability supported the district's day-to-day functioning.
Tadeusz was a true handyman—able to fix almost anything with clever, creative solutions that reminded his family of MacGyver. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life: cheering on UConn men’s and women’s basketball, watching NFL football—especially the Patriots and Eagles—spending time with his family watching movies and shows, and enjoying trips to the casino, scratch tickets, or a round of Keno. He also loved going to Disney World with his family, and they shared many memorable trips there together. He enjoyed road trips, fishing, and being near the water—whether at the beach, a lake, or teaching his children how to cast a line. In his later years, one of his greatest sources of happiness was spending time with his grandson Ben. Their time together brought him genuine joy and comfort.
He was the loving husband of 45 years to Krystyna (Lis) Krysiak, with whom he built a life centered on love and family. He is survived and will be missed every day by his three children: son Tad Krysiak of Norwich; daughter Bernadette and her husband Bennet of New Britain; and son Marcus Krysiak, also of New Britain. He was a very proud and loving Dziadek to his much-loved grandson, Ben, who brought him so much happiness.
He is also survived by his caring siblings: Mieczysław and his wife Teresa of Prospect; Ryszard and his wife Stephanie of Lunenburg, Massachusetts; and Barbara Tewksbury and her fiancé David Fusco of Southington. In addition, he leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will remember him with love and gratitude.
Tadeusz was a dedicated, humble man whose quiet efforts supported so many. He lived with purpose, kindness, and love—and those who knew him will remember his steady presence, generous spirit, and unwavering care for his family.
A visitation for Tadeusz will be held on Thursday, June 26, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT 06053. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 158 Broad St, New Britain, CT 06053. Burial will take place at Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain, CT.
