

Andrew was born January 7, 1936 in Manhattan to the late Andrew Belfiore and Mary (Giuliano) Belfiore He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1954 and served in the US Armed Forces as a Gunner’s Mate in the US Navy. Andrew had a long career working for the City of NY, and retired in 1996.
Andrew was a kind-hearted soul with a good sense of humor, and was held in high esteem by his friends and family. An easy-going individual, Andrew was an avid reader and enjoyed hundreds of books over his lifetime, with mystery/suspense titles being his favorite genre. In his younger years, Andrew served as a Webelos leader in the Cub Scouts and was once a member of Cursillo and the Worldwide Marriage Encounter. He was a member of St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in New City, NY for 60 years. As a youth he played recreational basketball, and his love of sports carried with him throughout life, as he often enjoyed watching sports games such as football and baseball. Throughout his life Andrew traveled extensively. He particularly enjoyed cruises and visiting Cancún, Mexico.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Anna Marie “Ann” Belfiore, his son Andrew Belfiore and wife Linda, daughter Mary Catherine Ferlauto, grandchildren Laura Belfiore, Ariana Ferlauto, Olivia Belfiore and Ava Belfiore, great grand-daughter, Liberty, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Andrew will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Viewing will be held Friday, September 15 from 3-8 PM at Higgins Funeral Home located at 321 S. Main St, New City, NY. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 16 at St. Augustine’s Church located at 140 Maple Avenue, New City, NY. Burial will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spring Valley, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
