Carol Ellen Cronin

Carol was predeceased by her beloved husband of over 60 years, John Cronin, whose passing in 2019 she carried with grace and strength. Carol had kept every holiday card he had given her, which he signed Love Johnny and filled the page with X's and O's. She was also predeceased by her parents, Mr. Morse Goldhagen and Mrs. Madelyn Goldhagen (née Monguzzi), and her brother, Robert Goldhagen.

Carol is survived by her four children: Michele Leidy (Wayne), Suzanne Cronin-Dale, Bruce Cronin, and Sean Cronin (Stephanie). She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Cerena Paschitti (Anthony), Erin Phillian (Luke), Megan Leidy, Danielle Cronin, Joseph Cronin, and Tommy Cronin; and her two great-grandchildren, Logan John Paschitti and Ellie Grace Paschitti.

Born in the Bronx, Carol graduated from Fordham University. She worked for over 30 years at Yeshiva University in Washington Heights as an Administrator for the Board of Directors.

Carol was a woman who deeply valued connection. She maintained friendships that spanned more than 50 years and formed meaningful new bonds later in life, especially through the St. Margaret’s Bereavement Group, which brought her comfort and companionship after Johns passing. She treasured her time with “the girls,” enjoying Mah Jong, Canasta, and countless celebrations at their favorite restaurants.

A gifted knitter, Carol lovingly created blankets for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A treasure they’ll always remember. In quieter moments, she could often be found working on a puzzle or enjoying her favorite game shows, especially Jeopardy and The Price is Right, where she delighted in playing along and often winning.

Carol made the most of her time with family and friends. She will be remembered for her energy, her kindness, and her dedication to those she loved.

A Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, US, on March 23, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

A Religious Ceremony will take place at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, US, on March 24, 2026, at 10:30 am.

A Committal Service will be held at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 220 Brick Church Rd, Spring Valley, NY 10977, US, on March 24, 2026.
