So sad to hear of Don's passing. He was a great man. Always making a joke of situations. God Bless his Family

Our deepest condolences to the entire Padilla family for the loss of our beloved Uncle Don.       Don was a one of a kind!!!  
He was funny, witty, sharp, smart, clever, giving, caring, and so much more.  We have great memories of Don and Carole that we will cherish forever.  He welcomed me (Leidys) into the family from the day we met.  He had a gift for making everyone feel like family. 
Brian has great memories of his summers in Nanuet staying at Uncle Don's house.  Uncle Don always treated him like his own.  We loved to see Uncle Don and Aunt Carole when they visited FL especially at the Howard Johnson's and Frank's Italian restaurant in Pompano Beach! Those were great times.  Our boys loved it when they came to visit.  He always made them laugh so much and they always looked forward to hearing his stories.  I (Leidys ) remember recording  Latin bolero songs for him to listen to in his car on the drive back to NY.  He said they were very similar to Italian songs and enjoyed listening to them.  He will truly be missed
We were very blessed to have him in our lives and we will always cherish the beautiful memories of Uncle Don.

I played golf w Donny and my dad once or twice in the Bronx. Donny told some great jokes. He was a lotta fun !

My condolences to the Padilla family. I have know his daughter and been friends since 6th grade the year her younger sister was born. Have many fond memories of their household the water fights when Mr Padilla brought the hose in the hose 🤣 the pinball machine he got and we played all day and night. He surely lived a great life and was so loved by many of us .

When I was 9 years old, I innocently asked whether Don was a lawyer or an attorney. Without skipping a beat, he grinned and said, “Both. I am a liar and an attorney.” That was Don, quick and irreverent. I always looked forward to seeing Don and Carol, they would welcome you in and make you feel right at home at the Villa Padilla. Rest easy, Don. Thanks for the laughs, the honesty, the hospitality.

Wow, where should I begin?  Uncle Don and Aunt Carol always welcomed myself and my family over for holidays, and let me tell you, spending and celebrating holidays, especially Christmas, at your home was amazing. You would always want to be there.❤️❤️
We had laughs, wonderfully made food, wine, dancing, kids playing, and so much joy. Aunt Carol always made sure everyone was taken care of, ensuring plates were full, drinks were topped off, and smiles were plentiful. Her warmth filled every corner of your home, making it a place of true comfort and happiness. Along with my grandma. 
I'll always remember Aunt Carol's and Uncle Don’s  infectious laughter and there  ability to make everyone feel special. They both  had a way of bringing people together, creating memories that we will cherish forever. Their kindness and generosity touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew him. 
Uncle Don’s spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched, and the memories we shared will forever be etched in our hearts. We are thinking of the family, Uncle Don, and sending all our love and support during this difficult time.Love always, Christina,Rob,Natalie, Emily, Arianna

To the entire Don and Carol Padilla clan and to all our extended family: 
I know we all feel this weirdness: how is it possible that the ever-youthful, ever-vital, ever-loving Uncle Donnie is gone?  He was -- and will remain -- a force, unique, to say the least --wry and goofy, wacky and funny and fun-loving and plain loving -- and wildly smart....

He and Nana were 15 when I was born so i do have impressions of them both as teens in the country house and at Grandma's. I can remember Donnie breaking into song and teasing Nana and just generally being the best uncle ever-- child-centered and silly and always exuberant. He came into his own when he met and married Carol -- who kept him in line, I'll bet -- and brought out the absolute best in him.

In the early '90's sometime, he gave me a manuscript of a book he wrote about his growing-up experiences, which was eventually lost in the various floods I had in my basement. I always wanted him to continue working on the book -- which was a complete draft but needed more work, as I recall.  Typical Don, that he would decide to write a book and actually write one. I hope the book still exists somewhere in the Padilla archives.

As Donnie always will -- exist somewhere, I mean. In our hearts and in the lives of all of his children and grandchildren and great grand children. He and Carol did make a whole lot of wonderful people.
