

Don is predeceased by his parents, Pasquale and Laura (Missori) Padilla;
his loving sister Elaine and his twin sister Ann.
He is survived by his beloved brother Andrew and many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Carole (Donde), the love of his life. Don and Carole were married for 57 years, and built a beautiful life and family together filled with love, laughter.
A devoted father, Don was the proud parent of 5 children.He was a cherished grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a loving great-grandfather to six great-grandchildren, all of whom were the greatest joy of his life.
A lifelong learner, Don attended the prestigious St. Regis High School in New York City. He then earned a degree in Electrical Engineering from Manhattan College and a masters in Business Administration. Following this, he received his law degree from Fordham University and became an accomplished patent attorney. Through hard work and dedication, he rose to become President of his division at Lucent Technologies. His career allowed him to travel extensively throughout the United States and around the world—experiences he truly enjoyed and loved sharing stories about.
After retirement, Don became an owner of C&Ds restaurant. In addition to his professional accomplishments, he also took great pride in writing a book and becoming an ordained minister. One of his most meaningful moments was officiating the marriage of his grandson to the love of his life, an expression of Don’s deep faith, curiosity, and desire to serve others.
Don had a true zest for life. He loved golfing, visiting the casino, watching movies, traveling, and tanning and relaxing by the pool. Family vacations to Florida and the Outer Banks were among his favorites. He loved big family gatherings at his house as well. Known for his humor, Don always had a nickname for everyone and a famous quote ready to share.
Don lived a life many can only dream of. Though he achieved so much, nothing made him prouder than his family. He was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed, but he is now reunited with his beautiful angel, Carole.
A viewing will be held at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on Friday, January 2, from 3-7.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church in Nanuet on January 3 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Don’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
