Elizabeth Castro Sicari

Elizabeth (Liz) Peper Castro Sicari originally from Brooklyn, NY, currently residing in Bardonia, NY, widow of Alfred F. Castro and Frank N. Sicari, died peacefully on Sunday, July 16, 2017 of heart complications at Good Samaritans Hospital in Suffern, New York. She was 85 years young and full of life.

In addition to spending time with her family, Liz enjoyed playing cards, shopping, reading, sunshine, and lived life to the fullest. She enriched every life that she

touched and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Liz was also proceeded in death by her and Alfred’s son John Castro. She has five surviving children. She was the beloved mother of son Frank Castro of Merrick, NY; son Freddy (Alfred), and wife Gloria Castro of Rockaway Beach, NY; daughter Lisa (Elizabeth), and husband Anthony Raimone of Bardonia, NY; daughter Mary, and husband Ken Blanton of Gaffney, SC; daughter Ann, and husband Jeff Haner of Ramsey, NJ. Liz, “Nanny Sweetheart” was the loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren Kim, John, Alfred, Frankie Jr., Freddy Jr., Anthony, Freddie, Marianna, Lisa Marie, Anthony Thomas, KB, A.J. (Alfred John), Jake, Reilley, and John. Elizabeth was also blessed with 18 beautiful great-grandchildren who brought her tremendous joy.

Visitation is at Higgins Funeral Home in New City on the afternoon of Thursday, July 20, 2017 from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00. Funeral services will be on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at Higgins Funeral Home. Internment follows at Long Island National Cemetery in Farmingdale, NY.
