Frances Mary Bowman

Born on August 21,1927 in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Daughter of Polish immigrants, the late Klemens and Mary Hawraj. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Robert H. Bowman Sr. (Poppy) in 1993, her brother John Hawraj, two sisters Julie Solek and Helen Luce and loving grandson Bryan Bowman. She is survived by her two children, daughter Lynne Marie Johnson and husband Eric from Duxbury,Ma. Her son Robert Howell Bowman Jr. and his wife Michele from New City, NY. Frances was blessed to have been surrounded by 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 6 nieces.

Frances grew up in Yonkers, N.Y. She graduated from Roosevelt H.S. and Butler Business School in 1946. She fell in love with her late husband Robert were they lived in Bronxville, N.Y. before moving to New City, NY.

Frances had a successful career starting with banking and later as the head Court Clerk for the Town of Clarkstown, New City, N.Y. She also received the distinguished service award from the Town of Clarkstown in grateful appreciation for her many years of service rendered.

Her contributions to her community were many. She was a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce and Republicans Women's Club.

Frances and Robert spent countless hours helping prospective political leaders back in the day. Frances was always quick to lend a helping hand, and a close knit family was the most important part of her life.

She enjoyed a lovely 42 years of retirement traveling to Hillsboro Beach, Fla. winters and spending summers in New City, NY. prior to moving to Hingham, Ma to be close to her family. Frances loved reading, sewing, ice skating and tennis. She was a very devout Catholic always seen attending a mass on Sunday mornings.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral service July 9, 2021 at 11:15am, St. Augustine's Church, 114 South Main St., New City, NY. A burial will follow at Fred Loescher Veterans Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
