Francis Greiner

Francis George Greiner born in Teaneck, N.J. on June 3, 1944, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 24th, 2022. He was pre-deceased by his parents Reinhold and Anne Greiner as well as his late brother Reinhold Greiner. He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria Greiner of 57 years; his three loving children Carl (Robin) Greiner, Craig Greiner, Donna (Louis) Fusco; and his five cherished grandchildren Krystal, Michael, Heidi, Dominic, and Gabriella. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sylvia Greiner and nephew Adrian Rodriguez.

Francis was a valued employee at Con Edison for over 35 years. He was retired for 15 years where he enjoyed his time woodworking, building lamps, playing cards, and tinkering with things in the garage. He also loved fishing, the outdoors, telling stories and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Francis was a deep thinker and liked figuring out numbers in his head and on his calculator in hopes of striking it rich.

Francis always put others before himself, he was a man of his word and a kind and gentle soul. He eternally loved his Queen, Princes, and Princesses’. He will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him so big.

Family will receive friends on Friday, October 28th from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 10am in West Nyack, at St. Francis of Assisi followed by interment at Germonds Presbyterian Cemetery, New City, NY. In lieu of flowers donations can also be sent to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
