

Francis K. (Frank) O’Reilly passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital on April 9, 2020. Frank was born on August 24, 1936 in Jackson Heights, Queens to Irish Immigrant parents Eugene and Julia (Tobin) O'Reilly.
A graduate of St. Joan of Arc School and St. Ann’s Academy (Archbishop Molloy). Frank served honorably in the US Army where he was stationed in Okinowa (Post-Korean War) working as an MP and Radar Operator. Returning home to NY, Frank joined the rank and file of the New York City Police Department in various commands over his 20 years, most notably the TPF, the 18th PCT, the 24th PCT. Frank eventually retired out of MISD which led to his second career in private banking with EDS and Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. He enjoyed his summer weekends at the Jersey Shore and winter weekends skiing with his gang of friends where he met his wife, Mary Ann. The two were married in 1972 and eventually moved from Queens to New City, NY.
In his retirement, Frank enjoyed traveling with his family, reading a good book, hearing a good joke and drinking a nice Rob Roy. He surrounded himself with his extended network of friends from work, parenting, childhood, his shore houses and the 10-13 with whom he created a lifetime of special memories.
Frank is survived by his wife Mary Ann, daughter Jennifer, son-in-law Brian and two granddaughters Fiona and Éireann. Frank was predeceased by his parents Eugene and Julia, brother Eugene O’Reilly and sisters Sheila Logue and Carol Maloney. Frank also leaves behind his brothers-in-law Paul Maloney and William Millon as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Although not related by blood, he also leaves behind his PD family and Jersey Shore friends as well as their children and grandchildren who all referred to him as Uncle Frank.
During this time, a Mass of Christian Burial will not be celebrated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. A private graveside ceremony for the immediate family only will be held Monday, April 13th. A Memorial Mass and Celebration of Life will be scheduled for a later date.
