Gennaro Basciano of Nanuet, NY passed away peacefully at Nyack Hospital at the age of 82. He was born in the Bronx, NY on February 27, 1932 to Vincent and Bridget Basciano. He was a Rockland resident since 1964, living in New City for 40 years and for the past 10 years he resided in Nanuet.He was a brick layer for over 30 years with Local 1 in New York City. Gennaro will be remembered as a devoted and loving father, grandfather and brother whose greatest joy came from spending time with his grandchildren.Gennaro is survived by 3 sons, Richard (Cathy) of New City, Thomas (Giovanna) of the Bronx and Vincent (Angela) of the Bronx.He is also survived by 2 sisters Phyllis and Rosie of FL; also by his 9 beloved grandchildren Vincent Jr., Stephen, Joseph, Michael, Anthony, Nicole, Valerie, Richie, and Thomas.Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY today from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Friday 10am at St. Anthony's Shrine Church in Nanuet with interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx.
