George Edward Renz, 90, of Nanuet, NY passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, October 15, 2021. He was born at home on April 29, 1931 in Middle Village, NY. George was the son of the late George and Madeline (McLean) Renz. In 1949, he graduated from St. John’s Prep School in Queens, NY where he found his passion for playing baseball. At age 19, George entered the United States Marine Corps. On July 9, 1955, he married his late wife, Barbara Ann, and remained married for 34 years until her death in 1989. George worked as a machinist for Fred Renz & Sons. He moved to Nanuet, NY in 1964. In addition to having an incredibly strong work ethic, George was also a devout father of six children, husband, brother, grandfather, and friend. He dedicated his life to supporting his children and grandchildren, being immensely proud of all their accomplishments.
After his retirement, George moved to Lakeland, FL where he remained a longtime resident until he returned in 2016 to his hometown of Nanuet, NY. He had a love for baseball and golf, especially his favorite baseball team, the Yankees.
George was predeceased by his wife, Barbara Ann. He is survived by his six children: George Renz and his fiancé Samantha Ulmer of East Stroudsburg, PA, Michael Renz and his wife Laurie of Cranbury, NJ, Clare Dixon and her husband Steven of Montgomery, NY, Marion Mihalko and her husband Robert of Warwick, RI, Brian Renz and his wife Lisa of Nanuet, NY, and Matthew Renz and his wife Shannon of Rock Tavern, NY; his ten grandchildren: Michael, Danielle, Keith, Matthew, Ashley Ann, Kyle, Emily Elizabeth, Dillon, Olyvia, and Owynn; his siblings: Frederick, Madeline, and Raymond. George was predeceased by his brother, Richard Renz.

A Mass of Christal burial will be held on Friday 10AM at St. Anthony Shrine Church Nanuet, NY.
Internment to follow at St. Anthony Cemetery.
