Gilbert Rodriguez, age 62, passed away while on vacation in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico on February 7, 2012. He was the loving husband of Terry R. Tablin of New Hempstead; devoted son of Manuela Rodriguez of New York and Manuel Rodriguez of Puerto Rico; and beloved brother of Robert, Manuel Jr., Yvette and Richard. Gil was an avid black belt student of Tai Chi and also enjoyed spending time outdoors hiking and at the beach, as well as sharing good food and wine in the company of friends and family. He was an Army Veteran and retired from the General Services Administration of the U.S. Government after many years of service. Family may receive friends on Monday from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in Congers, NY. Services will be held on Tuesday, 11am, at the funeral home.
