Gloria Chablis passed away peacefully with family by her side on January 9, 2015 at 88 years of age due to complications from Alzheimer’s. She was born February 25, 1926 in Newburgh, NY and was a resident of New City, NY since 1974. Gloria worked in the Travel industry for more than 30 years and was the President and Owner of Envoy Travel Inc. She continued to work for Stoker Travel after selling her business until she was 83 years old. She was a parishioner of St. Augustine’s parish in New City, NY and a former board member of the Catholic Big Sisters. She was a loving mother and grandmother. "Gloria was selfless, humorous and generous". She loved to cook, talk and help others. She is survived by her loving son George Chablis of New City, NY, grandchildren children; Christiana, Joseph and John Chablis of New City, and several cousins.
Family will receive visitors on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service, New City. Mass of Christian burial will take place Wednesday 10am at St. Augustine’s Church. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY.
