Grace Mastropietro

Grace Mastropietro passed away on June 24th 2015 at the age of 95 with her devoted daughter by her side. Grace is survived by her loving daughter Fran Mastropietro, her brother-in-law Lewis Battista, and several nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her many close friends who were a big part of her family. She is preceded in death by Dominick, her beloved husband, Betty Battista, her sister and Nicholas DiModugno, her brother. Grace was born on October 19th, 1919, in New York City to Rose and Joseph DiModugno. She married Dominick Mastropietro in 1954 and lived in Nanuet for the last 46 years. She was employed by Lederle until she retired. Until his passing, they spent many happy years enjoying life together. Grace was an parishioner of St. Anthony Parish and an Honorary member of the Nanuet II Senior Citizens Club. She loved life, enjoyed traveling the world, going to the theatre, fine dining and vacationing in Cancun, Mexico. She was lovingly known as GG by her devoted caregiver whom she considered part of her family.Visitation is on Sat from 7-9 P.M. and on Sun from 2-4 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St, New City, NY 10956. A Mass of the Christian burial will be held on Monday June 29th at 10 A.M. at St. Anthony Shrine Church in Nanuet, NY. Interment will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Donations can be made in her name to the United Hospice of Rockland.
