Henry Mendez

Henry Mendez passed on April 20, 2026, at the age of 64, he was a resident of Congers, New York.

Henry Mendez was born on July 12th, 1961 in the Bronx, New York to his parents, Hilda and Enrique Mendez. Henry was an only child. He grew up in the Bronx and graduated from Bronx High School of Science in 1981 and completed a Bachelor’s of Electrical Engineering degree in1983. Shortly after, Henry started his first career at Bell labs, the former research hub for AT&T.

In 1985, Henry got married to Rosanne, his wife of thirty-nine years. Henry became a father in 1986 to his oldest daughter and went on to have his younger daughter in 1990, and his son in 1997. Henry led a busy life as a husband, father, and a professional for over forty years. Henry could always be found tinkering around the house with his latest project,or playing and listening to his music. Mid-career, Henry decided he needed a change of pace. He went back to school,became a registered nurse,and eventually graduated from Stony Brook University with a Master’s of Science in Psychiatric Nursing.Henry became a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner for the Rockland Psychiatric System as well as an adjunct instructor at Bronx Community College.

Through it all, Henry maintained close relationships with his wife, children, cousins, extended family, and friends. He was patient, easy going, personable, loving, and detail oriented. Henry touched many lives. We are all grateful to have known him, and he will be missed every day.

Visitation will be held at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc., 321 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956, US, on May 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
