Irene A. Zuccarello

Irene Ann Zuccarello of New City passed away on October 20, 2017, she was 74. Irene was born in the Bronx on November 8, 1942 to William and Mary (Xikes) Gianos. Irene married Frank J. Zuccarello on November 7, 1964 in New York City. She worked at Helen Hayes for over thirty years.

Nothing made Irene happier than spending time with her family. She loved the big family holidays and cherished time with her immediate family. Irene also loved spending time with her many friends.

Irene will be remembered as a woman of many titles. A devoted mother, a loving Yiayia, a cherished sister, a favorite aunt, and a wonderful friend to many.

Irene is predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, Louis and Edward Gianos. She is survived by her loving husband Frank J. Zuccarello, children, Laura Anne (Bob) Verno of Wappinger Falls, Linda Mary (Tim) Zuccarello of New City, and Frank J. (Irene) Zuccarello, Jr. of Stony Point, and the loves of her life, her grandchildren, Katie and Tommy Zuccarello, and Zoe Driver. She is also survived by her sister-in-laws, Irene Gianos, Rita Gianos, and Effie Gianos and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 24 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home, New City. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 25 at 10am at Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, West Nyack. Burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, Nanuet.
